NICU HATS on Round Looms REQUIREMENTS

Hello Happy Loomers, I hope you are keeping well in these daily changing times.

Here is the great news. We "yarnists" are made for this. We love to stay home and yarn!

Today I would like to share with you our hat patterns and current requirements.

Nearly all of you started this journey leaning our MEDIUM beanie, the 10 brim and 15 top pattern.

*****REQUIREMENT FOR MEDIUM SIZE IS CURRENTLY FULL - PLEASE STOP *****
(Hold on to all that you have made and donate them at the next meeting please)

Now we say to stop medium but please don't STOP making beanies ;-)  Move on to a larger size please.

MEDIUM PLUS - Is using the same 24 peg loom and same yarns however now you will make 12 in the BRIM and 18 on TOP.

LARGE Loom - If you have Dolphin Baby (Regular not "Fine" then please continue to make the large size with one strand of DB, Brim 10 and Top 12)

LARGE KNIT - Or if you are a knitter then follow the previous post that details the pattern for the knitted large using the DPN (double pointed needles ).

NEWBORN Crochet - See below the previous post for how to crochet the beanie and follow the instructions for the larger size.

LOOM Newborn - if you have the 32 peg loom then you can make the newborn size 12 in the brim and 17 on top. Please continue to use the same yarns, as the current NB beanies will still be going to the NICU.  We will be extending the yarns you can use to include others available on the market here for newborn, child and teen and adult shortly (these will be going to others areas of the hospitals).

Please ensure you take care to secure ends using our split the two yarns technique and weave them into the hat.

And to watch from the start to finish , including securing the ends, please watch the video below.

We appreciate all the effort and time and love that goes into making these hats and we have received such wonderful feedback from the mum's in the ward who are very grateful!

Thanks for stopping by ...
