Making blankets for the NICU cribs has never been easier using the 62 peg straight loom and some soft yarn.
We have used 2 strands of the budget friendly Himalaya Super Soft yarn in the blanket above. This is a heavier weight yarn than the ones we use for the beanies and as it costs only 1.400 OMR for one 200g ball that gives you 328 mtrs, which means it is good value for your money.
We have stock of the straight loom sets with all four looms for only 4 rial!

While you can make a panel on the shorter 26 peg loom it does mean you need to make 3 and then stitch them together which is a little more time consuming, but it can also be fun as a group project. If you do make the narrower panels then please leave a long tail of yarn when you cast off which allows you to use the same yarn to seam them together. (example shown below)

Our NICU crib blankets measure 45 cm x 60cm. The length of the 62 peg loom will result in the width being 45 cm once off the loom, which means you need to do as many rows as it takes to reach the desired 60cm. You can leave your blanket as is or add a simple or decorate crochet border (there are many ideas for borders on you tube).
Are you ready to get started? Get your loom, hook, measuring tape, scissors and go have some fun.
