My Yarning Buddies - Start Your Own Group and Reap the Immediate Benefits.

Yarn Knot Alone has a monthly meet up and we have encouraged others to meet together in-between.  This is something that we are not going to schedule or arrange but I thought I would share a little a bout our "core group" and the benefits we are feeling as a result. I hope it might inspire you to do the same.

Every Tuesday I meet with 10-12 of my close yarning buddies, we are for want of a better term ... the happiest hookers in Muscat!

We started with 2, grew to 4, 8 and bam 12 within a few weeks. These gals are the best. No matter what is going on in my life,  come Tuesday 9am it just doesn't matter because for three whole hours I get to be part of this sisterhood of laughs, love, and utter craziness.  We laugh until we cry, we tease each other playfully and we lean-in and listen when needed. There is no talk of dramas, worries and no feelings of any kind of judgements.  They are my yarning tribe and I feel so lucky to have them in my life.  Not everyone can make it every week,  and some have departed Muscat already,  but those that drop in enjoy the company, the yarning, the coffee and the laughs. Stress levels reduce and the endorphins kick in.

We are from different backgrounds,  over 6 different nationalities,  with an age range from ... on second thoughts let's stay friends and not discuss age...., but we have in common the desire to help others, pay it forward,  and to keep our minds and hands busy.  We share ideas, teach each other, chat about our favourite You Tube tutorials,  and what ever light conversation that comes up. I feel my shoulders melt and relax , my mind clears, my breathing slows down and I remember to be present and enjoy this sacred time because let's face it later there will be errands, kids, that To-Do list, cooking, the husband and let's not forget the dog and cat ;-) .

We support local businesses first and then when we can't get what we need we share the best place to get X, Y and Z.   I have learned of new shops here, new restaurants / take-aways for those crazy days,  and new recipes to try just by having unstructured fun chats (it is like our kid's unstructured play-dates!).

I can not stress to you enough the benefits of having a small meet-up group. It is a safe and happy place.  While my little group is full to the brim,  I do encourage other friends to start one of their own. You can meet at home, or in a coffee shop,  alternate homes to host, or meet in the park or by the beach. Have a what's app group to arrange your meet ups and start enjoying all the benefits that come with being a happy hooker!

So take my advice, find a few hooker friends and get together regularly ... the benefits are amazing!

Thanks for stopping by ...
