Where in Muscat to Buy Looms and Yarn Supplies

Since we started our lovely group under two months ago we have been consistently clearing out the yarn stores around town and it has been a little frustrating trying to find looms in regular supply. This post is to let you know the yarns we have been using and where you can find them. Also where you can try for looms and crochet hooks. We can't promise they will always have what you need but at the time of writing this post the information is current. All of our volunteers purchase their own looms and yarns. Occasionally we get some yarns donated when ladies have had a clean out of their yarn stash at home and we are happily passing those on to those active members in our group however if participating with YKAM please be aware that it is self-funded and we thank you for your support. Mask Buddies / Ear Savers patterns

Here is our YKAM pattern for a mask buddy / ear saver that we have tried and tested well. We like this one because it can be several sizes by using the buttons. There are MANY different patterns and You Tube tutorials and all types are greatly appreciated. We will have a collection point on Monday morning 14th Dec at Mood Cafe MQ 9.30am for an hour or so. Making Panels for Blankets using the Figure 8 - Stockinette Stitch

Have you have been looming beanies and feeling excited and confident and ready to try something new ... this post is for you! I would like to introduce you to the Figure 8 Stitch that we are using to make panels and then stitching them together to make lovely blankets. (The blanket below has not yet been washed and will lay flat once washed). LOOMS. You can use any straight loom. Today's post is using the small 26 peg loom. We connect three of these panels together to make a crib blanket for the NICU. You can also use the largest loom 62 pegs and that will make one solid piece.
